are you simply using traffic exchanges for fun?

Why do you join traffic exchanges? Is it because of the pretty graphics? The reputation of the owner? The reputation of your sponsor? Just curious as to what makes you fill in that information and join.

I try to think of myself as a little bit different than most owners. I really try and do all I can to make sure that the exchange is productive. and that it has what the members need to be successful.

1 Modern Solution has been no different. If anything, I have gone overboard with the benefits that are offered. No other exchange that I am a member of, or that I have heard of… offer the opportunities that have been built into 1MS and we have a lot more planned!

I also try not to blast the membership with every new program that opens. If I send an email out to the 1MS membership, it is either I have gotten to know the owner and I support his work and dedication or it is a program that I myself have joined and found success. In either case, if I let you know about it, it’s because I think that you will benefit from it!

I sent an email several hours ago, and granted I was in a hurry and a bit excited at what I had seen and heard in the last 24 hours about it. It is the first time I have ever sent an email that did not have some reference to my own program. It was, I admit strictly an advertisement.

I felt bad about sending it, but wanted you to have the opportunity to get in on what I think is an ideal program. I have joined, made some phone calls, and done some research on the company. I don’t join and recommend just anything.

I guess the reason I am writing this, is 3 members canceled their account after that email. Now, unlike other marketers that you may run across… every member means something to me. I do not have the mentality that the unsubscribe button is at the end of the email… use it if you don’t like what I send. YOU are the reason why I send it. Sure, if I send you a link about another program, I am more than likely going to make some kind of commission. But if your not successful with the program, nor am I… so I always do my homework and send links of programs that I feel are worth while for both of us.

I have worked my butt off, along with J.O.E. to create the most successful internet marketing environment possible.
If I recommend another program, it’s because I believe it will enhance the opportunities we have created here, not just because I am looking to earn a commission. Remember, if your successful, then we are successful!

K… enough of that… The new menu is working out perfectly. It has made navigation of the pages swift and smooth. The Branding Machine is in full swing, and all members have available to them their own Personal Profile Page. It includes many things about you personally, and if you have your clickbank id listed, it even includes an ad that if purchased will go directly to your Clickbank account!

The second page I have created is for upgraded members only. It is a personalized squeeze page, with all YOUR information embedded. I have supplied the free gift to entice new subscribers, and on the thank you page to download the free gift includes an upsell that if purchased goes directly to your PayPal account!

I have several other pages in the works for both free and upgraded members. I don’t want to let any secrets out of the bag, lets just say you should be thoroughly impressed. They will definitely help in branding you as an individual and internet marketer and may even earn you some commissions and sales.

I’m going to add another survey after writing this email (#3) so please take the time to fill it out. I will make it worth your time by offering a free gift when you are finished.

Let’s Talk Traffic

One of the most important needs as an affiliate marketer is traffic – if your just getting started you need to specifically know what it is and how to get it. If your a seasoned pro, your looking for ways to get more.

Why?

Although it has become somewhat of a cliche these days, the truth really is, “the money is in the list” – that means YOUR list, not the list of people whose products you’re selling – at least not if you want to be successful.

Here’s why. As an affiliate, your job is to find people who want to buy the products you’re promoting, correct? So to do that, as a good affiliate marketer, you need to write an ad (or hire a copywriter to write it for you) that will send people to a website where they can buy the product you are promoting.

Do you see there is a serious problem with using this method. Do you know what it is? This is the method most affiliate marketers utilize to generate sales… yet it is flawed!

Anywhere from 60 to 95% of the people you send to the sales page are not going to buy the product or utilize the service you advertised to them. More than likely, they won’t even make it through the first paragraph… if you get them to the site at all…

1. Fact! People want to be certain that they’re making the right decision. They usually need to see or hear from you at least 5 times before making a buying decision.

2. If you’re sending people to the seller’s Website, what have you gained if they don’t buy? Who were they? Will they be back?

3. If they do buy, who were they? Will they be back? See my point? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to contact this person again if you have another affiliate product to sell? They spent money, but you may never see them again…

Here’s the solution:

1. Write your ad and include a well-written squeeze page – YOUR squeeze page. (A squeeze page is a simple one page Website that is designed to convince viewers to submit their contact information. The keyword in that last sentence is Simple. Lately, I have seen a lot of squeeze pages with a video, which is a great, easy way to engage your page viewers. How do you convince prospects to give you their contact information? Useful information. A gimmick, something that will make them stop and say… “hey, I need to have that!”)

2. Offer them an incentive to give you their contact information. (This could be a free report, a free newsletter, an audio or video product – just make sure it’s related to the niche or affiliate product.)

3. After they’ve opted in to your auto-responder, then send them to your affiliate sales page. Then if they don’t buy, you still know who they are. you know what they are interested in based on what your squeeze page was detailing. If they do buy, you Still have their contact information for future affiliate products you may be advertising!

4. Follow up with them on a regular basis – mixing good information, free bonuses, and additional affiliate products and services they may be interested in.

Lather, rinse, repeat. (Once you’re making money from your first affiliate product, move on to the next and then the next and the next.)

The best thing about this is that you can set most of it up on your auto-responder, so you turn it into a “system” and it runs “almost” on autopilot. (There is NO SUCH THING as a business that runs 100% on autopilot – and don’t believe anyone who tells you differently.) Any business – real business – takes work and effort. However, if you set up the correct way your auto-responder does the majority of the work, and you will only need to do simple updates and make sure you keep fresh information flowing.

As free manual traffic exchanges go… there are hundreds to choose from across the internet. So why do I own two, and what makes them so different?

1 Modern Solution is a free exchange with a twist… yes its still essentially a you view mine, and I view yours mentality, but once inside the members area you can see that it’s just a little more.

Welcome to the 1 Modern Solution Blog. I felt it was important to create a blog for the site as another way to keep up to date on changes and information. I will also use the blog to periodically update traffic exchange industry news as well as traffic tutorials.

Developing traffic using exchanges is only one part of the big traffic puzzle and I will use the blog to help members to find alternative methods that have worked for me.
